A Theological, Medical and Legal Examination of the Issues Encountered at the End of One’s Life

Sunday, November 4th, 2018
4:00pm in the Family Learning Center

Free Admission

A medical crisis can affect a family at any time without notice. Families are often unprepared to navigate the inherently complex theological, medical, and legal decisions that arise under such circumstances. The secular culture of death has increased the prevalence of involuntary euthanasia and physician-assisted suicide, leaving patients especially vulnerable in the face of a medical crisis. Is there anything you can do to protect yourself and your family?

Join us for a panel presentation featuring experts in the fields of theology, medicine, and law to discuss the issues that arise at the end of one’s life. The panel will demystify these issues to help you and your family better prepare for a medical crisis. Confirmed speakers include:

❖ Fr. Jonathan Dumlao, I.V.E., Associate Pastor at Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church who has led the parish’s sick and homebound & on-call hospital ministry for over 3 years.
❖ Dr. David Hammons, M.D., Retired Emergency Physician who has been a member of the Kaiser Permanente Santa Clara Ethics Committee for over 20 years.
❖ Mr. Kevin C. Bedolla, Esq., Attorney who has studied pro-life issues for over 30 years and has provided pro bono legal services for clients with end-of-life issues.
❖ Ms. Christina M. Bedolla, Esq., Attorney who specializes in Estate Planning and Taxation and has been a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of Peace Catholic Church.

“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil, for you are with me.” – Psalm 23:4
