Stout will be celebrated on Thursday\, March 22nd at 10am at Our Lady of Peace Church. \nPrivate wake & vigil (Jesuits only)\nPublic funeral Mass on March 22nd at 10am at Our Lady of Peace\nPublic potluck reception to immediately follow funeral Mass.\nPrivate burial \nIf you have pictures of Fr. William Stout who has passed away and to offer your rosaries for the peaceful repose of his soul.  All of us are very grateful for the gifts of his life and service to the Universal Church\, especially here at Our Lady of Peace where he helped out in so many ways for the past 50 years.  \nFr. Stout was a holy\, selfless\, and generous priest\, and a role model for all who had the blessing of knowing him.  He was also a humble and generous disciple of Jesus Christ\, and a faithful son of the Blessed Virgin Mary.  Today our local Church lost a saintly priest and a holy shepherd. Join us in praying that Fr. Stout’s soul will soon be welcomed into the company of heaven.  \nMay God grant him eternal joy and peace\, and may the example of his life lead others to the freedom of Christian discipleship.\n____ \nFather William John Stout\, SJ\, longtime teacher\, chaplain\, and parish priest\, entered into God’s peace March 14\, 2018 at Sacred Heart Jesuit Center\, Los Gatos\, Calif.\, after a brief illness. He was 85\, a member of the Society of Jesus for 66 years and an ordained Catholic priest for 53 years. \nBorn at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center on January 27th\, 1933\, Father Stout attended St. Mary’s Church and School and Bellarmine College Prep in San Jose. He entered the Society of Jesus at Sacred Heart Novitiate in 1951 and was ordained to the priesthood in 1964. Over the years Fr. Stout served the people of Santa Clara Valley in many ways. \nDuring regency\, he taught at Loyola High School in Los Angeles where one of his algebra students\, Michael Reagan\, was the son of then-Governor and late President Ronald Reagan. Father Stout served for 14 years as pastor of Our Lady Star of the Sea Parish in Alviso. In his time as a priest\, he has also served as the Catholic chaplain at Agnews Developmental Center and as assistant chaplain at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center\, often seeing 50-60 patients a day during his rounds. Father Stout began serving as the San Jose Fire Department Chaplain in 1973 and provided spiritual guidance and support to their members\, and presided annually over the Firefighter’s Memorial Mass. \nAlways working quietly and effectively out of the limelight\, Fr.
