DESCRIPTION:Please join us during the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass\n8:00 AM\, 12 NOON\, and 5:15 PM \nAbout the Miraculous Medal\nOne night Our Blessed Mother called to an innocent religious\, who would later be canonized St. Catherine of Laboure of the Daughters of Charity under the guardianship of Blessed St. Vincent de Paul. \nSt. Catherine saw Our Lady on a globe\, with dazzling rays of light streaming from her out-stretched hands blessing us with the heavenly and sublime prayer to shelter us under her Glorious Mantle. \n“O Mary conceived without sin\, pray for us who have recourse to Thee” \nPray for us O Holy Mother of God\, that we may be made worthy of the promises of Christ. Amen \nQuality of Our Lady As Illustrated by the Medal\n• Mother Her open arms\, the “recourse” we have in her\n• Immaculate The words\, “conceived without sin”\n• Assumed into Heaven She stands on the globe\n• Mediatrix Rays from her hands symbolizing “graces”\n• Our Protection Crushes the serpent (Gn. 3:15) \nThe Reverse Side\n• A cross-and-bar surmounts a large\, bold “M”\n• 12 stars disperse around the perimeter\n• Two hearts are depicted underneath the “M\,” the left lapped with a crown of thorns\, the right skewed by a sword. From each\, a flame emanates from the top. Again\, employing a grid analysis\, we can see how the reverse-side design contains great symbolism reflecting major tenets of the Catholic faith. \nDesign Element and its Catholic Meaning\n• The large letter “M” — Mary as Mother\, Mediatrix.\n• Cross and bar — Jesus’ cross of Redemption.\n• 12 stars — 12 Apostles\, who formed the first Church.\n• Left Heart — The Sacred Heart\, who died for our sins.\n• Right Heart — The Immaculate Heart\, who intercedes for us.\n• Flames — The burning love Jesus and Mary have for us.
