Christian Initiation

If you want to inquire into the Catholic Faith, then Christian Initiation is the process for you. The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is the primary way the Catholic community accompanies people in their journey of conversion to Christ and welcomes them into the Church. Through the process of RCIA persons enter “into the life of faith, worship, and charity belonging to the people of God.”

An individual begins as an inquirer. During the period of inquiry, a person freely learns about Christ and His teachings in the light of Catholic tradition while discerning whether he or she desires to become a member of the Catholic Church.

English RCIA classes will be held in Room 1101 at 7pm on Wednesday Evenings

Spanish RCIA classes will be held in Room 1101 at 6:30pm on Thursday Evenings

To register, you will need to complete the Registration for Christian Initiation and Adult Sacrament Preparation form. In addition, we ask that you complete the Pre-Interview for Christian Initiation and Adult Sacrament Preparation form. Please submit both forms when you register.

If you were baptized in a non-Catholic Christian Community, please submit any form of proof of Baptism at the time of registration. This may be in the form of a certificate, a letter, or a copy of the baptismal registry that has your name and Baptismal date and the name of the Christian Community on it. If the Christian Community no longer exists, then you may register without this information.

Adult Sacrament Preparation (ASP)

If you were baptized in the Catholic Church, and you wish to receive the Sacraments of Confirmation and/or First Holy Communion, then this is the class for you. The process by which persons enter into the life of Christ and His Church is called Christian Initiation. This class prepares baptized Catholic adults to complete their initiation into the body of Christ.

To register, you will need to complete the Registration for Christian Initiation and Adult Sacrament Preparation form. In addition, we ask that you complete the Pre-Interview for Christian Initiation and Adult Sacrament Preparation form. Please submit both forms when you register.

Please submit a Certificate of Baptism at the time of registration. If you do not have a copy of your Baptism Certificate, you may contact the parish where you were baptized and make a request for the parish secretary to send you one. This also includes those who were baptized at Our Lady of Peace Church & Shrine.

Baptism Seminar for Parents and Godparents

This class is required for parents and godparents preparing to baptize their infant (under 6 years). 

Baptism for older children and adults involves further preparation. Please contact the appropriate office for details:

  • for Infants (newborn to 6 years old), contact the Parish Rectory Office at (408) 988-4585
  • for Children (7 to 17 years old), contact the Catechism Office at (408) 988-7543
  • for Adults, contact the Adult Religious Education Office at (408) 988-7543 Ext. 1113

Clases de bautismo para Padres y Padrinos

Se requiere esta clase para los padres y padrinos se preparan para bautizar a sus hijos. Para completar este clase , debe asistir a dos sesiones.

  • Sesión I ─ Por Vida Cristiana , El catequista es el Sr. Sergio Lua
  • Sesión II ─ Ceremonia de Bautismo, El catequista es el Sr. Manuel Ayala

Usted recibirá un certificado de finalización después de asistir a la segunda clase. Este certificado es válido por cuatro años. Si en el momento de tomar la clase que usted es el padre de la de ser bautizado y no se confirman , el certificado no se puede utilizar para presentarse como un padrino en una fecha posterior .

Siga por favor amablemente las normas que hemos establecido para esta clase.

  • Pre -inscripción ahora se requiere para esta clase desde el 1 de marzo de 2014.
    • No está permitido sin registro el mismo día .
  • Usted debe completar Seminario Bautismo antes de recibir su Fecha de bautismo en la Iglesia Nuestra Señora de la Paz.
  • Usted puede inscribirse en cualquiera de la Oficina de la Rectoría o en la Oficina de Educación Religiosa para Adultos. También puede enviar su formulario de inscripción completo .
  • Usted no puede registrarse por teléfono.
  • Completar un formulario de inscripción por cada persona que tiene previsto tomar la clase .
  • Llene el formulario completamente .
  • Llegue a tiempo . Si son más de 15 minutos tarde , se le pedirá que vuelva a registrar y repetir la clase Seminario en otra fecha.

Las clases se ofrecen durante todo el año .
FLC salón 1104 , durante el mes de julio , las clases se reúnen arriba, en la salón de la iglesia.
No hay cuota de inscripción para esta clase.

Para registrarse, usted tendrá que completar la inscripción para seminario Bautismo para los padres y padrinos . Por favor, véase también la Lista Seminario Clase de Bautismo adjunta 2013-2014 , de modo que usted puede llenar en las fechas que tiene previsto asistir a cada sesión.
