20th Anniversary of the SSVM at OLOP
The Servants of the Lord and the Virgin of Matara came to our parish in 2004. It has been an incredible grace for our community to serve at the parish and shrine! Consequently, we would like to show our gratitude for God and to the parish community for allowing us to serve at this Shrine dedicated to Our Blessed Mother and Our Eucharistic Lord.
We invite all parishioners to celebrate this milestone with us on
Wednesday, August 28th, 2024
at 5:15pm Mass, followed by an outdoor reception.
As a gift to our sisters, we will have cards available to fill out to offer your prayers as a spiritual bouquet. Let us pray for the SSVM community and for the fruits of their ministry!

What is a Holy Day of Obligation?
A Holy Day of Obligation is a religious feast day where Catholics are obligated to attend Mass. On Sundays and other holy days of obligation, the faithful are to refrain from engaging in work or activities that hinder the worship owed to God, the joy proper to the Lord’s Day, the performance of the works of mercy, and the appropriate relaxation of mind and body.
Family needs or important social service can legitimately excuse from the obligation of Sunday rest.
